Re: Gemini Jets Delta A330
Thanks, and you know I think you are right. I think the reason it looks that way is because the circumference on the engines for the model is smaller compared to the real thing???

Ya...the circumference, this reminds me of GJ200's GE-90 engines....sigh.
hopefully...GJ200 will do something about it...in the near future

Re: Gemini Jets Delta A330
lol, well this mould is much improved compared to the first realease which was the US Airways A332. Lets hope Gemini is paying attention and keeps improving the moulds. The new Hawaiian A332 looks like it has been reworked and it looks good!!

ya, however, GJ200 seems reluctant to modify the engines on their moulds don't know why, could it be too costly? I believe the engines mould is separate from the rest of aircraft mould right?

Is the dihedral of the model's wings too steep?

Re: Gemini Jets Delta A330
I wonder if it might be the main gear being too tall, rather than the wings or engines themselves being wrong. Compressed vs uncompressed gear struts.

Re: Gemini Jets Delta A330
The engines are a blessing compared to the main gear. They look to narrow on their struts.

Re: Gemini Jets Delta A330
A few technical data about the A 330-300.
Position of the wing and engines above the ground depends on the weight of the aircraft.
< Extremity of the winglet above the ground.
Operating weight empty, CG 26,8 % 8,05 m.
Max ramp weight, CG 36,5 % 7,61 m.
< Ground clearance of the engines above the taxiway.
Operating weight empty, same CG as above.
GE 0,94 m.
PW 0,90 m.
RR 0,87 m.
Max ramp weight, same CG as above.
GE 0,79 m.
PW 0,75 m.
RR 0,72 m.

I think that's the answer as to why the engines seems too high indeed.
A very fine release! It's going to make it all the more difficult for me to hold out for the Air Canada version!

And then your model will sit even higher up as the gears will be lowered

Good point.
There are plenty of good shots of N801NW (A330-323X) on Anet. Below is a shot of one of its engines. It looks pretty much like what I see on the model.
Overall, minor niggles aside, I have to say I'm happy to scoop one of these in the upcoming future.

Re: Gemini Jets Delta A330
Nice photos! This must be the diecast that was released before the "new" one that was just announced yesterday?

Re: Gemini Jets Delta A330
I have this model, and while I'm overall very happy with it, I still don't understand why GJ can't get the tail colors right. They are MUCH better than the MD-80/767/777 but still a bit off. I don't know how they could hit the nail on the head with the 757 and 737s, and miss it most of the time. Still, I am glad it's not as bad as the MD-80 (that's the worst).

Re: Gemini Jets Delta A330
all in all a nice release...though i'm pretty happy that the Delta livery is not my cup of tea... the mould still needs a pointier nose cone and the frontgear strut definatley needs to be shorter/the front wheel needs to be smaller/the maingear as a whole looks too weak compared to the pics of the original... have to see it person, maybe i'm wrong and it is just an optical illusion.

Hi gabe4321, are you responding to the 'Gulf Air' bird?
