Default Off Topic: Trip to AMC Museam Dover, De. and BWI

Hey if u like the oldies like Connies, B-377's and DC-4's I'd recommend going to the AMC Museam in Dover, De. It was a 4 hour trip for me but worth it. They had the Gemini 200 C-17 for $69 so I picked up one of those. On the way home stopped at the park by BWI airport where u can watch planes land. Saw mostly Southwest 737's and Air Tran and US Airways planes.
But the AMC has oldies and newer planes like the C-141 which I banged my head on the top of the door going in Ouch! The Connie had the nose taken off they are getting a longer nose. This particular Connie was actually part of a restaurant in Pa., and also was a nightclub at one point. You can go inside some of the planes and can walk all around them and underneath also so I had a great day as the Connie is my favorite plane and there aren't too many of them around.
The pics are a little out of sequence the US airways Embraer should be last, yes that's me hamming it up in front of the C-54 and C-121 Constellation. The only plane I've actually flown on that they have here is the C-130 I got to fly a few times while in the USMC.

Great pictures and thanks for the heads up on your visit. I plan to attend the NASCAR Nationwide "One Main Financial 200" at Dover on the 29th and I'll make the AMC Museum part of my itinerary.

Saw some C-5's and C-17's taking off while I was there also so keep you're eyes on the skies also! They have a nice website to plan your trip, they are closed Sundays and Mondays.

Caught many a C-141B and C-5A out of Dover during the '70s and '80s. Nice place, never knew they had a museum there.

They have a C-141B (That you could enter) and a Military 707 (I guess that's the c-135?) Notice the C-17 landing in the one pic. They are getting a C-5 not sure where they will display that monster of a plane at. They also had a DC-9 (Air Force 2) that you were able to walk through.

When I was in the Air Force, I took a hop in a KC-135 (707) from Eielson AFB to Seymour Johnson AFB in 1980. It was a great flight and only paid $5.00 for the boxed lunch. I look forward to entering that monster Starlifter and thanks for the info about the museum website.

Steve if u go in that 141 watch your head when u go through the door I cracked mine bad. I think which aircraft u can go in is determined by which volunteers are there that day. I flew in a C-5 and C-130s a few times when I was in the USMC. Spent 3 months at Osan AFB in Korea it was great the Air Force has the best chow halls!
