Default Why GJ200 never used the Boeing 744 mould again?

I was just wondering about this. I remember when the UPS 744F was released, Rod at that time says that the mould was a retooled one which is fantastic and that aircraft should be one of the pretiest 744 out there...
Why we never saw a 747 again?.
I'd love to see more cargo jets on that mould.

Regards,
Francisco

Think they just borrowed it from the IF factory, but changed a few things to meet GJ's requirements. Have to agree it was a beautiful release, and would love to see more too. But the factory could be backed up having to release a lot of 747s the next few months.

I hope Gemini Jets will make their own series of 747 moulds, and knock inflight out of the way. GO GEMINI! I also hope inflights announcements will not deter Gemini Jets in releasing the same aircraft when they do get their own moulds...

Yeah, but from my observations it appears the 1/200 diecast airplane model business is like a cartel. Only certain companies release certain models or models from a certain part of the world. They all share moulds b/c the factories are actually the same. I too wish Gemini Jets would make their own 747 mould with a proper wing box join and engines, but I think the cost of creating a new mould is very high for 1/200 scale. You would see the cost of models skyrocket.

It was reused for the Air France (for Socatec).

GJ used the existing IF 744 mould. They may use it again but I doubt they'll develop their own - they have their mind on bigger things!

Yeah, proper PW engines for UA/NW/DL/SQ/KE would be nice...
