Default 1:200 Valujet DC9- where can i find it?

Hi everyone!

Doing a search, i managed to find an old thread where someone posted a picture of a 1:200 DC9 with Valujet (see post #14):
http://www.diecastaircraftforum.com/...0-valujet.html

My question, is where can i find it? I'm assuming it's a kit, but it's exactly what i need! Here is the picture that was posted:

The kit name mentioned was Hasegawa but i can't seem to find a product number. Does anyone know the product number and/or where i can purchase this kit?

My goal is to convert this to a DC9-20 since there aren't any model -20's on the market. I plan on using the fuselage of a -10 and the wings of a -30 to make the model, i just need the decals, etc!

Thanks in advance!

Your best bet is eBay. These dc-9 kits are no longer in production.

When you locate a kit, you may find this useful: AIRLINERCAFE.COM - Converting the Hasegawa DC-9-40 to a DC-9-10

I've been hoping Gemini would do this one for a long while. I always loved this livery as a kid.

Man I would love someone to make this. Really reminds me of being a 10 year old watching these birds. Please Gemini!

I hope so! Time will tell. Next time I visit Gemini jets I'm going to offer my support for the idea.

Please do. I always liked this livery better than the Air Tran one.

That's great! Are you gonna make it a -20? You'll have to post pictures of the process as I'm pretty sure I'll have to make my own too

Hey guys,

Well i'm going to try and attempt a custom 1:200 ValuJet Dc-9-21 but i need some help.

Can anyone suggest the best way to go about doing this?

I know the -21 series has the fuselage of the -10, with the wings of a -30.

I was able to find a plastic 1:200 DC9-32 ValuJet model (unknown manufacturer), so i have the wings, horizontal stabilizers, and more importantly a vertical stabilizer (painted in light blue with the word "ValuJet".

So, all i need is a -10 fuselage (in all white) which i can then paint the rear end blue, and then add the "plane mascot" on the sides.

Do you have any advice as to how i should get the "mascot" on the sides? How can i make decals for it? Are the decals clear "stickers" or are they more of a transferring device to get the ink to stick? I don't have any special printer.

I was planning on using automotive two-part clearcoat to finish it off. I just need to figure out how to get that "plane mascot" on each side of the fuselage...

Thanks for the tips!

Chris

cduluk, write me a pm stating your name and address and I'll ship you my
decal sheet for the ValuJet DC-9 in scale 1/200 free of charge. This sheet is from the former
Liveries Unlimited series by Jennings Heilig. This decal sheet lacks the cockpit windshield
which I hope you can fix from other decal sheets available in the market.

Best regds,
Geir

Did ValuJet even have a 20 series DC-9? I thought their entire fleet were DC-9-30's.

Indeed. Evidently ValuJet had at least 4 DC9-21s, with regs N952VV, N127NK, N128NK, N129NK.
