Re: My newly arrived 757 eastern
You have it on a Star Jets stand but I don't see a Star Jets EA 757 in the database. Is it a Gemini 200?
At any rate congrats

Yes ... I have lately noticed many (less than a "wack load" though ...) Star Jets Eastern 757-200s on eBay ...
I have been contemplating getting one also ...
Thanks for the pics ... I want one even more now !!
Why wasn't I born independently wealthy ??

Re: My newly arrived 757 eastern
I hadn't checked / noticed that this Stat Jets Eastern 757-200 is NOT in the database ...
I wonder what that means ?
Are these legitimate Star Jets ?
Do I care ?
No ... Not at this moment.

Now that really is "limited edition". Any particularly reason why they made so few models

Such a beautiful livery! Don't have a landor anything yet but for my first I'd like it to be a 757 that looks just like that... hello Gemini?

Re: My newly arrived 757 eastern
I know there has been lots of discussion about natural metal airliners mostly AA, but I have to ask, is this model too shinny?

Re: My newly arrived 757 eastern
I just looked at 15 random pics on airliners.net of the Eastern 757 and I have to say my feelings are correct, this airplane is WAY TOO shinny! So my initial impression stands. That said how do manufactures move forward to correct this?? Plastic and metal?

Re: My newly arrived 757 eastern
Notice also that some of these have surfaced on ebay.
Wasnt this the model used as a picture on the gemini site when they announce 1/200 was coming?
Decided not to get one as just sold off my starjets collection.

Re: My newly arrived 757 eastern
I believe it has to do with trying to make plastic look like bare metal - don't think anyone has accomplished that
to a satisfactory degree.

Re: My newly arrived 757 eastern
Schuco release on the old Starjets...not ultra rare like the original Starjets samples, but probably limited enough that for the price might be worth picking up.
With all the mould swapping, sharing, and buy outs...chances are it is only a matter of time before a fast sell out models becomes available again anymore.

Re: My newly arrived 757 eastern
Mine arrived today. GREAT model. There are a few minor rub spots but the slight imperfections kind of add to the look of the finish.
Photos for this metallic 757 surfaced about four or five years ago. After the initial photos, all news of the release fell off the radar screen.
So now after years of waiting, it's arrived. Eastern may be out of business, but now we all have something to mark our trip aboard this
rocket...or to add to your Wings of Man 1:200 fleet.
Is it worth the wait? YES!
