Thanks, Todd! I'm definitely in for the FedEx 777F. Will hold out for a Hawaiian A330 and will probably pass on the Delta L-1011 bicentennial.

That is a beautiful set of releases. The L-1011 is actually based on Inflight's mould, which isn't a bad choice. Will be getting the Delta TriStar to accompany my Delta Belle. The Airbus A330 should also find its way to my house...

Red face Re: Gemini 200 July 2012 Releases

Holy Crap! I can't catch a break with 1:200 releases.

A whole lot of good stuff in this batch. Starting with that brand new A330, so happy that GJ finally released one in 1:200. I like the look of the A332 in US colours so I may have to get this one instead, as its also the first release. This is my favourite A330 model, the -200 with the RR Blowdryers . A little surprised it's not Hawaiian, which would have looked great, but I like the look of this model too. Hawaiian will be released this year for sure. I don't say this often, but I think the A332 looks "smart" in US Airways colours. I think I will have to get this one, the pre-production photo looks great so far!

So yeah, kinda drooling over that one.

Next, the BA 777-300ER has caught my attention as well. I remember seeing a couple at LHR in December and I always admire how sleek they look. I missed out on the first BA 777-200ER release, so I would really like to go for this one. I just added my first 77W to my collection last month. It looks great in the picture, it's hard to resist a lot of the new 777s that GJ releases. But I would love to get my hands on this one!

Finally, the FedEx 777F is looking really nice right now. I am seriously tempted to buy one. I always kinda liked the FedEx livery on the 777F, especially the "Panda Express", which would have made this release even cooler. But still looks great in the photo, and I know GJ doesn't release a lot of 777-200LRs, which I really like (although this is a freighter, its on the -200LR mould). But still, it looks really good in the photo and I am very tempted to pick one up as well.

So I think for this batch it will be the US A330, and either the BA 77W or the FD 77F. Combine that with a flurry of recent IF200 releases and a waiting list of 20 models, and I would consider myself broke . Hopefully by mid-July when these will be available I will have scraped together enough after my big purchase in another hobby later this month.

Come on GJ, I need a bigger financial break.

Pics!

I was just saying to myself, "Self, when was the last time we saw Gemini really go outside their safe zone and give us something unusual?"

Self replied, "It's been a while."

Hot D**n!!!
Great (and expensive!) Month.

SO far...
That L-1011 will look great next to my other DL L-1011.
The FedEx looks awesome.
That TWA is so totally coming home to papa!
And that Frontier is a wonderful surprise!

Thank you Gemini!
After a few months of limited purchases, just when my savings were getting intact again, you do this to me. Thankfully, it's a pleasant pain!

TWA 762's had all-grey wings and stabs. Looks like GJ didn't do much research nor ask anybody who knew how they were painted. The wings are a big part of the plane's total painted surfaces.

This is *extremely* high on my want list. Basically only my avatar is more desired. But to screw up half the paint job is very disheartening.

Thats an easy fix for them, im sure they will get it right. As we know the pre-release Gemini picture is usually different then the final release. And, say absolute worst case they release it with the wrong painted wings, you could always swap the wings out with a different Gemini 767 release that does have full grey wings. I know you dont really want to have to do that, but im just saying worst case it can be fixed :-) think positive haha

Considering that their recent PAA 747SP sample was right, but the final release was wrong--it doesn't inspire hope.

Here you go again. I'd say you need to quit the hobby. Sell your 10 models and ride off into the sunset. Go start that rock collection....

Are there any improvements on the L-1011 mould? It was supposed to be the same old Inflight-mould...
The wings seem to be more detailed(paintjob) but the beacon lights seem to be painted on, not the 3D versions that GJ is using normally.

Hmm...well NWA DC-9...maybe as I already have the inflight version....still I adore the bowlingshoe livery, so I'd prob get it anyways. And of course the Fed-ex 777....goes well with the rest of my FDX fleet

EDIT: I see now....its a tiny DC9...different from the InFlight one, so definate GET!

Talking Re: Gemini 200 July 2012 Releases

I am so excited that I will soon be the owner of a 1:200 Delta L-1011. I wish I could get the TWA, BA and the FedEx also. I might be able to pull off the TWA too. Ill just have to wait and see.

Expensive month- and where am I going to put all these widebodies, in addition to all the ones I already have? Oh well. Happy to see the A330 actually be released.

It looks like I will be seeing the NW DC-9-10 and the TWA arrive at my doorstep.

Well, nothing like the Gettysburg Address, the first man walk on the moon or the fall of the Berlin wall. But close.

I almost jizzed in my pants when I saw all these new releases! The US Airways A330-like almost everyone-caught my attention big time! I always see these big birds come into Philadelphia and it is such a thrill when they fly over! My house is actually situated in Southern New Jersey so when their A330s from Frankfurt am Main and London Gatwick come in, they always vector over my house to line up for Runway 27 landings!

I also love the TWA Twin Stripe 767-200! That is my favourite livery that TransWorld Airlines ever flew!

British Airways' epic 777-300 definitely got my eye, as I am a big fan of their Union Jack livery and the 77W!

Looks like a big gap in my wallet this month-well worth the wait though!
