Which are better, WESTERN MODELS or HERPA?

Well I would go with Herpa.
You do not specify if herpa Premium or NP models.
In either case I prefer Herpa although I would prefer if the whole model was painted int he case of both Premium and NP Herpas. Plastic, high quality plastic at that is still plastic.
But Western , although improving is not there yet.
In terms of price the NP Herpas are about 1/3 to 1/4 of a Western and a Premium Herpa is a lot more money than a Western so you are comparing apples and oranges as they say!
IMHO the best value out there in 1/200 are the Herpa NP model, ANY and ALL!
Even the much maligned release of the SAS 737 is a very nice model. Look for Stephan's pictures("Delftblue Daybreak") I think he has postd pictures of most of them.
I have alsoposted links to albums where I have some close up pictures of both Western and herpa P's and NP's .
