ANA Festa store at Haneda Airport
Hi,
I am new to the forum but I found information about the ANA Festa shop through this forum (didn't realize it was in Terminal 2). I am more of a 1:72 military collector but I wanted a 787 so I headed by the store today. I ended up buying a 1:200 B747-400 that I flew on frequently as well as the first flight B787 at Haneda in 1:400 as it is not in the final production paint scheme but I wanted one anyways.
Anyways, since I was there, I took some pics of the displays (everything in the displays was available for sale). I live in Japan but I visit the US and Germany/France quite frequently so I go through Haneda/Narita a lot. The newest release was a 777 with a Gundam logo (jan 14).
I took a lot of pics in the store of the display cases as well as the stuff that is for sale there. I'll post one here and if people are interested in more I can post the rest. I also got a pic of a full scale 787 on the tarmac in what I believe is the production paint scheme.
I posted here since it wasn't clear to me where to post and I didn't want to duplicate.
Nice to meet you guys,
Max

Re: ANA Festa store at Haneda Airport
A warm welcome also from FRA to the forum
By the way... your 1:1 B787 model was the one comig back from FRA after its first flight on Saturday to here.
At the moment we will have now a daily change with this B787 and the B772 before the next B787 will join the ANA fleet for their daily sercice to FRA (beside their daily B773 to NRT)

Re: ANA Festa store at Haneda Airport
Thanks for all the responses. Here are the rest of the display cases. I have much higher res pics so if you are interested in those, please let me know. I think you can see many of the prices. Due to the current exchange rates, I agree with many above that the prices are quite high... I had some gift certificates I had to use at an ANA store so I had no choice.

Hi,
Here are some pics of the various things on sale. If there are any specific requests, there is a good chance I will be going through Haneda in March.

Welcome Max. Welcome to the forum, and thanks for posting those pics. I never collect smaller than 1/100 myself, so it is good to see those those larger scale ANA models.

Re: ANA Festa store at Haneda Airport
That 1/100 Pacmin Peace Jet doesn't come for less than $1600-$2000, being sold at an almost 500% profit. Other than a few super rich Japanese (or other) collectors, I can't see many of them being sold out soon, judging by the state of the economy. ANA has teamed up with Pacmin as shown here on the Pacmin website but I can't really see the point though seeing that their products are priced so as to keep them well out of reach of most collectors. ANA has created a class system with their models.

Re: ANA Festa store at Haneda Airport
I'm sure they can because at ANA's prices, they aern't going to see many buyers and I'm half inclined to email them to question the logic behind this absurd pricing and who their target clientele is because all of us here are model collectors and there's no one I know here who would spend that much on a single resin model. To be quite honest even if I did bite the bullet and bought one of these for this price, I would be too embarrassed to show it off because the price is so ludicrous.

Re: ANA Festa store at Haneda Airport
While in Tokyo, I used to go to Tenshodo, nearest train station, Shimbashi on the Yamanote line.
A fantastic place for model collectors.
I bought there an ANA B 747-400 especially made for the Japanese market with a lot of details.
One of my best models.
It was eight years ago ...

Hi Max,
Is this ANA Festa store near gate 66 (South Pier)?
From the floor map of the 2nd Floor of Terminal 2, there appears to be almost half a dozen "ANA Festa" locations; only one (near gate 66) does not sell drinks/beverages.
I have a Haneda transit next month, and I hope I can get to the store too.

Re: ANA Festa store at Haneda Airport
Hello All From Australia,
Just joined up. Been meaning to do it for a while but for one reason or another held back. I would say I'm a senior collector with over 100 models in the 1/200 scale. I too agree with Moin with the price on the ANA range of scale aircraft. I'm sure we would all love to buy into the ANA range, but the cost and trying to source the products is making difficult for us. The only way to purchase the range in Australia is to either fly to Japan or bid for it on Ebay.

Re: ANA Festa store at Haneda Airport
I took some pics of them when I was at ARD, didn't I upload them somewhere here? Anyway while those 1/100 777-300ER's had an abundance of detail and a host of desirable liveries, the engines and most importantly the nose profile were a disappointment, especially the nose/cockpit which in my opinion can make or break a model. The nose/cockpit on those models had a more 'Airbus' look to them than a B777 and I noticed no two models had identical noses/cockpits, they all varied slightly. Maybe that was because of the different liveries but I've seen and have more than enough 777 models in various scales to know if its correct or not. They don't come anywhere near Pacmin as far as mold accuracy goes but definitely beat Pacmin as far as detailing.
Whoever made the molds of those ARD models should have simply taken a Pacmin 777 to use for accuracy reference i.e. getting the right shape of the nose/cockpit, shape of the engines, thickness of the wings/stabs etc. Its a good effort and a very imaginative choice as far as liveries are concerned but those molds still need tweaking.

Re: ANA Festa store at Haneda Airport
I have 3 of the ARD 1/100 models, 2 747SPs Iraqi and Alliance, and an A340-600 in the current livery of Etihad. I agree with Moin that the detailing on them is very good, and I think that the finish is excellent. You get a lot of model for your money. I hope to add their 1/100 Egyptair 777-300 to my collection soon.

Hi,
SOrry for the long delay in my response. I hope this is in time for you.
It is the ANA Festa on 1F of Terminal 2, between Arrivals doors 1-3 and the central area. I can give you a more detailed description when I fly through there again on Mar 11. I can't remember what stores it was near....

Thank you very much for the information. My trip has been rescheduled to late April, so all is well.
My 5-hour Haneda connection should be within the International Terminal; I could probably make arrangements to "enter" Japan and make my way to Terminal 2. I hope the store is in the 'public' area as I may not have access to the secured area.
I would certainly appreciate more information on the exact store locations.
Thank you again!

Hi,
It's on the outside. so you don't need a domestic ticket. I am not sure if I will have time to go by there as I had a morning meeting scheduled and I will need to leave right away. I will probably fly out of Haneda on the 15th though and should have more time then to go to the domestic terminal. It wasn't terribly difficult to find though.

That shop sure has some large scale beauties. I hear that the models there are very expensive. I'd love one of those 1/100 787s

400%-500% over retail price is ludicrious. These models are beautiful, but should be priced at 150%-175% retail at most.

You will find ANA official models expensive and it's not to do with the markup between various retailers. I purchased two 1/400 ANA official modelsfrom crossings when I was in Japan a few years ago and the price was within 10-20% from the festa store. I don't know where you pulled 400-500% over retail from. It's certainly not the case in Japan.

Several stores in Europe offer something similar. The aviation shop in Manchester is a good example. The guys behind the counter also take their time to explain them if you have questions about aircraft type on postcards etc. in Asia it's rare to see postcard setups like this I don't think any shops ive been to especially in HK offer postcards displayed like this.
