Now this is a retro!!!!

'Wow. This BEA scheme would make a great retro scheme for an airliner. Can British Airways take a hint? This is the Starboard side. BOAC is on the Port
side.

I think it is wrong forum to post this . Try in 1:1 scale commercial aviation.

How can you be tired of something that is one of a kind and they are all different.

.....and what is this doing in the military section?

Talking Re: Airline Retro Colors?

Well, getting past the fact this thread was started in the wrong place as an innocent mistake . . . I like that Air France one in the first post! What a classic applied to a modern aircraft, indeed!

They should do retro military colors..like a C-17 in 1970's era Military Airlift Command grey and white!

Thats a great idea. MAC aircraft looked sharp like that.

Perhaps even a what-if scheme incorporating a white top Eastern Hockey Stick? The C-17 is STOL EAL had a couple of concepts w/those colors.

Just my opinion, but the jets in the first post would look way better than a solid line or semi-circle of euro-white parked at the terminal.

I think the airline liveries of the 50's, 60's and 70's are better than the ones today. Maybe part of it is because the planes, both props and jets, of that era had character.

Hell yeah, pretty much every a/c around just now looks pretty much alike. Apart from the odd exceptions they are all twin underslung engined low wing a/c.

Not gonna bring up the obvious about the forum, but I think the retro thing is prevalent in all forms of society. Look at the Mustang, Camaro and Challenger. How about music? Chris Cornell doing Michael Jackson? Shine Down doing Lynard Skynard. Architecture returning to Frank Loyd Wright style. The NFL has seen a bunch of teams go back to their original colors full time or part time throughout the season. Just because it's old doesn't mean it needs to change. I dig the old stuff. it would be cool if some polished aluminum planes were out there. I agree it would be pretty sweet to see some fighters dressed up in the old time colors. C-130's olive drab with black and white stripes. F-16's and 15's polished aluminum with stripes and nose art. P-3's painted like the old Catalinas in different shades of blue. It would be pretty cool.
