Well, boys, I reckon this is it - nuclear combat toe to toe with the Roosskies. Now look, boys, I ain't much of a hand at makin' speeches, but I got a pretty fair idea that something doggone important is goin' on back there. And I got a fair idea the kinda personal emotions that some of you fellas may be thinkin'. Heck, I reckon you wouldn't even be human bein's if you didn't have some pretty strong personal feelin's about nuclear combat. I want you to remember one thing, the folks back home is a-countin' on you and by golly, we ain't about to let 'em down. I tell you something else, if this thing turns out to be half as important as I figure it just might be, I'd say that you're all in line for some important promotions and personal citations when this thing's over with. That goes for ever' last one of you regardless of your race, color or your creed. Now let's get this thing on the hump - we got some flyin' to do.

Re: For You Bear Fans
Fantastic video!, even that version of Also Sprach Zarathustra wasn't too bad either
My heart sank when I saw the first frame as it looked like it was taken from a computer simulation, and I hate videos like that as I can never ever see any bloody point in them, however, when I saw it looked real enough, then, I took the mouse cursor away from the stop (pause) button and sat back and enjoyed it.

Re: For You Bear Fans
I saw the video long time ago, i hate it because they add the music so i can't hear the real Bear engines sound. We can find another same video but have real sound in Youtube. Its better and great when hear the sound from 4 fans engines.
Btw, i still looking for any brand, ex Corgi... will release the Tu Bear in 1:144 or 1:72 scale, i got one from Atlas, but not really happy with their mould.
Here's my Atlas Tu95- Bear 1:144 scale:

Re: For You Bear Fans
There is a company that make the big wooden ones. You can get them from there.

Yeah, I hate the computer simulation video also. A lot of it turns up on You Tube and RuTube searches. That opening scene cinematography with the morning sky behind the Bear looked so good to be almost unreal.
I don't know if you looked at it, there was another, longer Ty-95 video on the search list, but not as slick a production.

I also have the Atlas Ty-95 1:144. It's alright, but your right it could be better. I wish they didn't glue the propellers together so they can rotate freely. I tried putting the landing gear on it, but they did not fit very well.

Re: For You Bear Fans
Here is the other Ty-95 video. Unfortunately, more music, so you can't hear engines. But you do get to watch a refueling operation with an IL-76 and the Bear engaging some F-16's.

Yes, i agreed, i like the propellers can rotate. Landing gears is fit in my model, but its can't not stand by itself without stand because the tail is too heavy, so the fuselage is not balance and the model always fall down behind. The big problem with the mould is we can see the interstice over the fuselage, which is not exist in the real a/c.
Do u know any die-cast mould available for TU-160 (1:144 or 1:72)???

There's only the Model Power 1/400 version...I had to put landing gear on it since almost all of the MP models come in flight mode.

Re: For You Bear Fans
Thanks, Tupi. The Tu-95 is a beautiful bird, and impressive in flight. The Russians really know how to build aircraft that last, that thing is almost as old as the B-52, but hasn't gone through nearly as many upgrades. The B-52 of 1954 is not even close to being the B-52 of today, but the Bear has been almost unchanged for 50 years. Hey, on that model you have, can't you pry the blades apart and at least glue it so it shows both sets of props on the nacelles?

I've been tempted to pry the blades apart, but each time I try, I get cold feet. I can hear the plastic on the blade about to crack.
The TY-95 is an amazing plane and still flying after all these years. But the Bear has absolutely no bite in this modern day world. The Russians keep it flying on its patrols more for the propaganda value with the Russian people. You are right, the B-52 of today is a completely new plane. It's new use is as a heavy duty carpet bomber.
