Apparently, there are no fatalities which is great!

Too bad the C-5 wasn't so lucky. Was is a Dover-based bird or was it from somewhere else?

It was a Dover bird with the 436th Airlift Wing, 2 pilots were most seriously injured.
This accident aircraft is probably 84-0059 (C-5B)

I'm greatful that everyone survived. Pretty sad though that a C-5 was lost. I see the C-5s almost everyday flying over my house and school on approach to SWF. I saw one 30 minutes ago over my school.

I first knew the C-5 through the NGC show 'Megastructures'. Sad to see a C-5 in such a state. This is the 3rd C-5 crash right?

Went through Dover AFB on a gig last month, and saw what was left along with the Avionics, etc. that has been recovered. From a conversation that I had with some folks from Travis who were in Dover, they had intended to "part her out" but are waiting on anaylsis reports of the airframe before they can proceed and decide what to scrap.
