Just been reading today that an RAF Nimrod has been on station above London for the past few days acting as an airborne command post for security in the capital. By using it's comms suite it has been controlling all Police, army, intelligence and other emergency units in the counter terrorist alert of recent days, believed to be the first time the Nimrod has been used in this role. I have to say the security services are VERY edgy, I've seen terrorist alerts before (heck, in the UK we've lived in a semi-permament terrorist alert for 30+ years with the Irish problem) but this week something has really put the ****** up our security people. Considering that terrorism is not new here and that most of our guys are very experienced in counter terrorism with the IRA etc. the fact they're this nervous I find very worrying indeed, it's pretty scary.

Hang tight, Justin! Your nation has suffered far worse firepower in the form of V1, V2 and Luftwaffe bombers. The British are the role-models for stalwart courage under fire. This time, hopefully, there will be nothing worse than threats and caution.
