Hi all,
I don't usually post on this part of the forum, but about 10 minutes ago I was sitting at my desk and I heard what sounded like some large propellers getting closer and closer. I peaked past my monitor and just coming in to view in my window was the unmistakable shape of a B-17 bomber at about 1,200 feet I'd estimate. Well that's something you don't see everyday! Hanscombe Airforce base isn't too far away, but I jumped on Google to see if I could find out more and I came up with this:
Wings of Freedom 2012!
September 24-26, 2012 Concord Municipal Airport
WWII Vintage Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, Consolidated B-24 Liberator and North American P-51 Mustang on Display in Concord at Concord Municipal Airport from September 24 to September 26 .
Wings of Freedom Schedule - The Collings Foundation
Pretty cool. I wish I had know earlier—I would have played hooky! Maybe tomorrow or Wednesday . . .
Just thought I'd share. Enjoy!
