That's a really good shot! Especially with US Airways in the pic.

The details of the photo clearly indicate it was taken during a spectacular sunset . And it was taken at Boston's Logan airport.

"US77 to PHX is getting ready for take-off on Logan's runway 9 during a spectacular sunset. Behind it you can see the Customs House, one of Boston's most famous landmark buildings. Canon EOS 40D, EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L IS USM lens + EF 1.4x II extender."

I'd have to disagree with you there. The A320 completes it very well. With out it there, the photo would have too much bare ground and this would make the city look much smaller than it really is. The aircraft adds a sense of metropolitan which the sunset counteracts. The conflict of these two elements express day to day city moments occurring off into the night. Kind of like a *sigh* at the end of a busy day.

You misinterperated me. I mean that yes, an airplane needs to be in the frame, but not that airplane.

Again, I think it's great the A320 is there. It's a popular abundant narrow body aircraft in NA, however the sunset's lighting transforms it into something less ordinary, like it's doing to the city. It's like finding beauty in everyday things. Also, the nice strong posture of the wings and the modern attractive lines of the A320 complements the lighting and backdrop very well.

My take on it anyway.

I think a nice 727-200 in Widget colors would've done that photo justice
