I thought some of you may enjoy this video I took while waiting for our return flight from HKG to LAX last week - wish I could have spent more time there as there was no shortage of action in the 15 minutes I spent shooting these various scenes - had I had more time I would have walked to the end to shoot some takeoff sequences but (sigh) time did not permit ... hope you enjoy this nonetheless!

I've been to Check Lap Kok airport many times but never had I seen a bright sunny day in that airport. I am asian, but would anyone know if the weather is always like that there?

I going to be in HKG on a SQ flight from SIN to SFO.. I wish there is more time so I can do some decent spotting. Im landing around 7pm so fat change of any good views.

Mariner is there any gift shops that sell 1/400 models? Thanks for to video AWSOME !!

There IS a toy store which sells mostly CX models in 1/400 and 1/200 on the lower level of the international terminal. You will need to exit through customs and baggage claim and then take the escalator back out to the upper level departure area which will then get you back to the airline check-in counters. The stores are all towards the back and the toy store has all the airliner models in the window ... can't miss it!

773ER ... I shot a video of the landing which is here - sorry for the shaky hand but I had nothing to brace myself against - I would have tried otherwise, but I didn't want to make it too obvious to the flight attendants in case they spotted me with 'active electronics' during landing ...



My pleasure Typo ... I mean Tupo (now if there were a way to make money off of this stuff I'd REALLY be one helluva happy camper) ... now here's one during our layover at Manila after returning from Boracay ... not as much action in Manila but this was relatively interesting ... well at least it was a 747!

Quite the skilled tug operator there, manouvering the aircraft all over the place. Again, a very nice quality video.

There is a way to make money on YouTube videos, once you get about 1,000 views per video in a week, you can become a YouTube partner, which allows you to make money off your video views. It takes a while, and its not much, but it is something, and its kinda fun.

@Pendulum: I know its one of the busiest airports in Asia, I just wasn't expecting to see three widebodies pulling into an out of gates simultaneously. Quite an accomplishment that can only be seen in a handful of airports around the world.

These are all great videos, very steady footage! In that last PAL video I was wondering...where is the tug pushing back the 747 too?! Never seen a pushback like that before. The tug operator makes it look very easy!

Thanks Par ... as for where the 747 was heading, I have no idea ... possibly they were towing it to another gate on the other side of the terminal, or to some maintenance area, I'm not sure. Unfortunately I missed the very beginning when it was closest to the terminal!
