Love the first one!!

I have the Skymarks 1:50 model of that very plane, so, despite it being one of the smallest planes, it's actually one of my biggest models!!
It's right up there with the Hogan 1:200 '380s and the Ever Rise 1:100 China Airlines 738 in Lavender livery.
How ironic, eh?

Anyway,

I'm going up to the Orkneys and Shetlands in a couple of weeks time, so I might see a few things up there also!

I SOOOOOO want to do this!:

YouTube - World's Shortest Scheduled Flight

I'll also get to Barra and these other places where they land on the beach one day, one DAY!

YouTube - Barra Airport, Isle of Barra, Scotland

There's also another island where they land on the beach too isn't there??

Imagine having somewhere like that as your local airport - a place where you have to wait for the tide to go out before anything can land!

..... Concrete is SO passe don't you know!

So common ....

...So 1952 .....

But when the daily remit is multiple short hops between tiny bumpy strips in a climate that flickers from the blustery to the apocalyptic, this sturdy little craft is hard to beat.'

I have this on Bebo (of all places), a site I hardly ever use.

It is by far and away not the best, but it's mine, so I like it:

Also see the other Sea King pics.

I will have to book, I am not planning to fly right now. I will be in the Orkneys and Shetlands at the beginning of July, so was going to try and do the Papa - Westray one first.

I looked up the BA website (I know it's Loganair, but it's the same thing really isn't it?? - showing my ignorance) and couldn't find anything.

Given it's local nature, do you actually have to book, or do you just turn up and go?? Any ideas??

Thanks.

That's incentive enough!!

How much and where do I pay??

And as for your model - it's looking better than my one with plain wings!
It's something else for me to try also!

You do realise, don't you that you will have to take it along to work and photograph it next to the real thing, don't you?!

Your own picture is a bit dark by the way.

Thanks.

Didn't think so but my wording was wrong so gave the wrong impression
I meant if you could turn up and buy a ticket at Papa or Westray airport/field

I'll look at the site, thanks.

Ah right.

Anyway, according to the website, I was right, sort of - the 'Sightseers round trip' is only bookable 30 mins prior to the flight

For half price (£31.00, you can go for a round trip from Kirkwall to Kirkwall via most of the other places, including the 2 minuite hop.

Presumably only if they have the space though??

For full price (62.00), you can actually get off and take a wander round, and you have to book that in advance.

Hmmm, I'm very tempted here!
