Awesome Pics Moin! Who cares if they are A.net quality? I think its ten times better seeing raw spotting pics then A.net ones! I would love to spot at LHR, and I am hoping I can get to CDG on the 19th.

Great photos, Moin. I kinda like that they weren't taken in bright sunlight.

Thanks. I'm still hoping to get the SIA A380. Problem is that it arrives at LHR at 6am in the morning and departs at around 12 noon and theres no way I'm going to get up at 4.30am and get out there in order to catch the landing. I'd like to make a vid of the takeoff actually. The last time I was at LHR to catch my flight to PHL, I saw it taking off and for those who haven't seen the A380 takeoff in person, its a sight to see. Its like this silent monster coming towards you very slowly. You hardly hear it, which is why I want to do a vid instead of pics.

If a monster was heading towards me I'd sure like to hear it coming .

Moin, what could be more rewarding than starting a day at 6am seeing an A380 coming in to land

Great photos Moin, may I ask which location you took these from? What camera are you using?

I was using a Nikon Coolpix L5 and was standing on the side of the road adjacent to the runway. The pics give a good idea of how close you are to the a/c but seeing them in person is a whole different experience. Unfortnately as I left and was walking away, the GF Formula 1 A332 and QR A346 landed and I missed both of them!!

I always stay at the Renaissance right where you took those photos...You get a room with an incredible view...They have an airplane spotters special on the weekends where they discount the room and include breakfast...Its quite a site to lay in be in the early a.m. just as the sun is coming up and get awoken by an A380 landing right outside your window along with all the other early a.m. arrivals from Asia!. You also get unlimited access to the concierge lounge overlooking the airport! Great Potos!!

I read reports on airliners.net actually just last night where there was a complaint the windows are not clean both in and out, but the view is still good. It was also recommended not to go for the spotters special but just ask for a room facing the runway!

Love those Scandi 737-600's!!! As for the SIA A380, saw 9V-SKD land about 3 weeks ago, but then I was there for a look round it when it was on the ground.

Going there again in a few hours. I'll check out CAM as well and might be tempted to pick up a few models too.

Got to LHR and just managed to see the A380 lining up for takeoff on 27L so we rushed to the other end of the runway and as I got out of the car, it flew right over. Managed to get a few seconds of footage but not good enough to consider a youtube video. I should have just taken pics instead. Either way it was a sight to see.

Went to CAM and picked up the HG KLM 772, ANZ 772 and SR 742 but noticed that the registrations on both the KLM and ANZ 772's was different to what is listed here on the database. The KLM is PH-BQJ (database shows BQA) and the ANZ is ZK-OKB (database shows OKA) and both have gears. Are these second versions?

But no models of a certain old air France model

Thanks for letting me know if it was there.

Think I've just found it now anyway.

I spent a week at Clic Sargent house in Prestwick, so had to be content with watching Air France Cargo, Cargolux and Polar Air Cargo '747s, lots of Ryanairs, Wizzes, one or two Atlantic Airlines Electras buzzing past, and various other things doing training curcuits from the likes of Aer Lingus and XL.

Oh and and also one of they pure dead humungous U.S.A.F. Globetrotter 'hingies too
