yea i saw it yesterday. it does lack the professionalism that was found on the previous site. as a graphic designer...i give the site a C- mostly due to corniness, convoluted, and dated design. changing the page colors makes it even worse.

I like it! The old web site was too dark.I also like that I can pick my page color.

And SERIOUS is GOOD!
It just looks like a "homemade" website now - just a bunch of sections thrown together with a OUT-of-PLACE header graphic that doesn't match the various optional page colors. VERY AMATEURISH ... the reason I am so appalled by this design is because ... I (yes me) was the designer whose design was selected by Johan several years ago! I'm not kidding ... I won't mention my name (initials are B.C.), but I collaborated with Sam Chui (photographer) who gave me permission to use his photo. I submitted many variations of the header graphic and was selected by Johan and Co. as the eventual grand prize winner! ![]() There's NOTHING left of the previous effort - not to say it wasn't time for a re-fresh, but now it takes MANY steps BACKWARDS!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! ![]() Last edited by MarinerOne; 05-29-2008 at 05:54 PM. |

I like its lack of "seriousness". The old site was all dark and business-looking, but this is a HOBBY. Which means it should be light and non-serious. It's supposed to be fun and enjoyable.

I've never been in one of these stores. Do they sell aviation related items?

hey if you dated people havent been up to the times with website design please check out The FWA: Favourite Website Awards - Web awards at the cutting edge and be enlightened.
anet's design now dates itself back to late 1900s early 2000s. doesnt sound like a long time ago but in the design world its significant. you wont be finding anet winning any awards thats for sure. all those bubbly buttons???? comon even apple stopped doing that on their website....freakin website is an eyesore trying to search for things like the top pics, etc.

I agree with all the above and it does not seem to have the same options available as it did before.
Also, it is hard to navigate. It is very disorderly and scattered. Not my number 1 choice anymore. I went to Jet Photos. A.net, change is good but improve your change. Right now it is a mess. ![]() |

Is this a DAC thing? There is a survey over at 400sh on the new a-net site that shows most over there like the new a-net look, as I do. I think it brings the image of the site into the 21st century.

To be honest, I feel it was better on the eyes in the past than now, this one is just overkill. At least it's not all flash, but still.
Seems like the guys on airwhiners are having a good ol' field day on it though.

I have no opinion about the old or new design of a.net. I still found it easy to get to the photo search engine. That's all that matters to me.
