Question 1:1 DC-3 on eBay

..... Anyone here just bored with models and want the real thing. Oh, if I only hit the lottery and still had my papers (I'm medically grounded... WAH!!!!).

Wow, if only, if only... Could run quite the nice little air tour service with that ancient beast.

Although this plane is a classic and still flies, it's almost scary thinking about trusting your life in something that looks so "beat up". I don't know that much about old planes, but you gotta believe that Douglas was doing something right if this example is over 60 years old and still flyin' strong!

..... Can say what you will, but even though this old girl has been rode pretty hard, she still looks pretty good for all she's been through and her age. It's a testament to the builder, especially when you may note far newer aircraft are having serious age problems. The "gooney bird" just keeps flying on while many of its modern successors have come and gone.
..... I read a science fiction story once. Earthmen were colonizing a planet far away but they brought an DC-3 as their air transport for on the planet. They wanted a reliable aircraft. The plot hole of course would be : did they have also brought along a large supply of fuel for it.

Why shouldn't it fly ? Hundreds of these "old planes" are flying all over the world. What about this one ?

Yes, it DOES fly (I personally saw it), and no, it is NOT a replica !

It noticed it's located in North Carolina, It s not restored Piedmont DC-3 that is kept at CLT but is there a possibility it is from the same group of people who own the Piedmont?

Oh, c'mon...you wouldn't want to ride in a 1934 Cadillac, or a 1940 La Salle? You wouldn't want a ride in a carefully restored B-17? Or a Boeing 377? There would be a pile of eyeteeth for a ride in these ancient gems, and you know it.

Did you read the questions people were posting? Jeez...if you had that much to spend on the plane you'd think you would do a little homework. Some people were just "asking a question" to say "cool auction!"

I'm shocked to see the price of the plane so low...I guess gas prices affect everything, huh?
