Default Princess Juliana Airport-St. Maarten

I read in airliners.net that this airport will put displaced threshold instead of the fence. What does this mean? Does this mean that we can not see the planes take off while hanging on the fence?

Nope, they will still have the same takeoffs, just different landings. I can't believe that they did this, the runway is short enough as it is, this must make it almost the bare-minimum to land a 747.
