I was heading down Bear road on my way into work at MCO today when I saw something a little out of the norm.
As I rounded the corner to the long strait which puts you right at the end of the runways on that side of the airport, a aircraft on final caught my attention. First because it had four engines & it wasn't a 747 or A340, theres not much that lands on that side with four engines. I slowed so the aircraft would head right over my roof & I could get a better look "always a fun to do there". As the aircraft got closer I noticed it looked like a 707, then the large engines & gray paint gave it away. It was a damn KC-135, but what the heck was it doing at MCO?? The KC-135 seemed to come in pretty low, lower then most aircraft I have seen there. It came right over my roof & man was it loud. I had never seen a KC-135 in flight, it's a very impressive airplane, I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time. So does anybody have any insider info on what it was doing at MCO?? I asked our operations guy but he had no info. Last edited by Phantom Phan1200; 05-04-2008 at 01:44 AM. |

Not sure why that happened. We had a B-52 not to long ago land at Minot International. It was caused by a long list of not so likely problems all on the same night, which included Minot AFB being fogged in and Bingo fuel. Never in my life thought I would see a Buff sitting at NW's terminal but I did.
