It was a Shanghai 757.....don't know the date, or the story....but I have some great pics of the aftermath. PM me if you want me to send them to you. Also, no, this is not the ones of the COA mechanic sucked in at El Paso or Austin that I posted a couple years ago.

..... More than a decade earlier I was on the USS America in the Tonkin Gulf (off Viet Nam if you don't know). Another flight deck crew was careless, not paying attention and he got sucked into and A-7C intake. Those little A-7s were not known as "mankillers" for nothing. Even though the engine shut down quickly, about all that was not ground meat were his legs. I had the bad fortune as it were to be on the flight deck and was immediately called, but as you can guess, there was nothing I could do for the guy. Sad thing was this was the last week of flight ops before we were relieved on station with a port visit in Sydney, Australia and then home (with a port visit in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil... WOO HOO!) ..... Flight decks are dangerous places, even being careful. The week before I arrived to the America they lost a plane chief who (as usual not paying attention) walked into the spinning prop of an E-3C. Dave (I got all my injuries in other ways) |

Some 737s have a do-not-go-past-this mark painted on them, and we have a Continental poster on the wall warning us of the dangers of this. |

The "Minced Meat" Was Not Being Facetios. It Was An Honest Answer To Someones' Question And It Hits The Nail On The Head. I've Been Debating Wether To Ask Dylan For The Pics Or Not. I'm Not Much Into Gore, But Curiosity...There's No Control. |

Excactly it's only curiosity, which is very noremal. People don't want to see gore they just are well driven by human nature to see how other people messed up. Or became someone else's mess. ![]() |

The photos arent that bad. Not trying to be rude or anything, but it litterly just looks like ground beef in a fan.

It is morbid curiosity that makes us want to see pics like these. Nothing wrong with that. Doesn't make someone a "sicko" or mean they have "bad taste". It is real life. |
