Very nice indeed.
Shame I missed it but at least there is always the aircraft on static display.
Can you spot the wooden control surfaces on the ARDU IIIO.

Good spotting Tim. I believe that the wooden elevons are a replacement for the metal ones which were sold to assist with funding of the restoration effort. I paid particular attention to the delamination (or laminar separation) on the trailing edges of the eleveons which appear to be made from marine ply.

The other piece of trivia with A3-16 is this was the bird that made the wheels up landing at Tulla many years ago.
Praise be to the 300gal wing tanks which kept it from cartwheeling.
Normally they used to fly these with the supers on the wing stations and the 300gal was on the centreline.
Twould have been messy with that config.

What's with the twit trying to swat the plane with pingpong bats???

Is the MiG and the Jindivik still sitting on display in the hangar?
I haven't been out there for ages.
I would love to buy the Control Tower after the GA moves to Gawler and convert it into a house.

Guess where my study would be

The worst part is that I believe that the wheels-up landing configuration for this aircraft was not as a result of a problem with the aircraft. I suspect that the pilot would have found out what the problem was when he needed to select full afterburner just to taxi...oh, and the ants on the ground would have appeared to be slightly bigger.

This incident is what triggered the gear down audible warner being fitted.

The P-38 is wonderful.
Last time I saw it it was in bits on the ground, bare metal and lots of zinc primer.

What a great house that Tower would make.

Is the Grob Egrett still there, and is the Drover still airworthy? Im sure my old workmate flew the Drover from Parafield. He raved about it when he got back. I was jealous, he had thousands of hours of three engine time in BN-2s already.
