Default First Qantas B747-400 in Revised Livery

I knew she was due in at Sydney today, but someone was lucky enough to be there to photograph her!

I cannot take credit for the photos, but damn I think she looks awesome!

I know there are those out there who don't like the new roo... but I still think it looks good. Can't wait to see this B744 for real some time, cos it looks so much better in real life (from the types I've seen already).

It will only take a matter of time to like this scheme. I didn't like it when it first came out, but when I compare the two A380s I have Hogan (NC) and Skymarks (OC)...the new colours are definitely starting to feel better.

I hope QF keep the 743s long enough so they can have the nc

I like it (only on the 747 though)..it gives the plane a sleek look I think.

I don't think that will happen... though I could be wrong. Two of the 743's have only recently been updated with the 'Spirit of Australia' titles while the other two still wear the italised 'The Spirit of Australia' titles.

With one due for retirement in the coming months, and the remaining three probably to leave the fleet by the end of the year or early 09, they probably won't bother with a repaint of any of the remaining classics.

That's fine in my eye, they will stay classics in that case

The new livery is now on every aircraft type within the Qantas fleet (pretty sure it is, I know it's not on all sub-types), definitely suits the big guys, but I think it looks good all round.

I hardly notice the "change" on the 747-400 compared to the same scheme on the 767.

Letters are now more noticeably italicised, and a different font.

Spirit of Australia titles moved from underneath the windowline to across the top.

Kangaroo restyled, longer leg/foot, restyled body etc.

No more gold separation line between the white and red.

On the B744 'Longreach' is now in black, not gold, and located above the window line.

Aircraft names are now located behind or near the cockpit area. (B744's used to be at the rear of the aircraft near the Australian flag).

All of which are minor changes to most people who wouldn't really notice when looking at the plane.

I like for a long time the brand (colour scheme and aircraft) but now with the new livery I like more as I find the letters style more dynamic.
It's very representative of the australian people : dynamic and accessible.
