Default US Airways

I'll be going to the US later this year and all my domestic flights will be with US Airways. I was wondering if anyone could give me a little info on them. Price, service, food, comfort etc. I don't really expect much as most of the flights will only be an hour and 15 minutes.

Thanks in advance.

usairways is rated one of the worst airlines in the USA.

i flew with them and didnt have all that great of an experience either. to make a long story short
1. flight attendant wouldnt let my mom use the bathroom because she (the FA) was pouring ice into the toilet when in fact she let a white lady do so beforehand. we are asian
2. i got clearance from the captain to take a pic of the cockpit. i step into the doorway. the same FA grabs me by the arm and pulls me back and tells me i cant take a pic for "security purposes." i told her the captain gave me permission, she didnt care. plane was already empty and turned off.

so thats my 2 cents. wrote a complain letter to the usair office and got a $50 for my next flight. i aint flying with them ever again. threw that $50 into the recycle bin.

fly southwest airlines if you are traveling within the USA. there is no comparison.

Damn. I kind of had to book with them as it was out of my hands. It seems kind of expensive too. I will be using US Airways 4 times and all one way and it's costing me $1000-00 (Aus Dollar). So broken down I'll be paying $250 for less than an hour and a half. I'll be in the West Coast of the US. Phoenix, Vegas, LA and San Fran.

Here in Australia we have Virgin Blue, Jetstar and QANTAS and their domestic flights are cheap as. Sydney to Brisbane costs $79-00 one way. And that's roughly the same distance from LA to San Fran. I feel gipped tbh.

The only time I have flown US Airways was 20 years ago. But my experience was much different, great service and very friendly. It must be nice to have all those cheap flights down under, 250 really isn't that bad for a 1.5 in the states. It costs around 500 to go from minot to st.louis.

Yes, I agree...Southwest will be a better choice since they serve all the 4 cities you will be flying to.

I'll be flying QANTAS there and back and 1 domestic flight too.

US Air cancelled one of my flights and made it 8am. I was suppose to leave Las Vegas at midday but for no reason given, it was cancelled....

Not to happy about that.

Sorry you had to fly USAirways. I have flown with them twice and they have messed up BOTH times. They gave me 250 dollars to spend on their airline, and i refuse to use it.

It is too bad you have to fly on US Airways... just a very poorly run airline.

I have no idea what US Air was like. I guess my travel agent went for the cheapest flights. If only I joined these forums earlier...

I'm trying to get my agent to book a later flight rather than the 8am flight out of LV.

I obviously don't know when you're traveling, but we have Virgin America now. You should see the interiors of their planes! Gorgeous! Economy class has leather seats and first class has white leather seats with built-in massagers. Fares from LAX to SFO for roughly $50 each way and from Las Vegas to SFO for $49-$89 depending on when you're traveling. I'll be flying them in August from Seattle to SFO. Only $77 each way in economy.

I had a better experience than yours. The only problem was that they changed my itinerary without them calling me and I got mad with them over the phone after that and I had a hard time checking in after that. The flights I took were good. Nice FA's and flight crew. I got a chance to get cockpit shots and some cabin shots without intervention from the FA's(They said that they had to ask the captain first), and one flight on an Embraer 175 had a problem with the Air conditioning, otherwise my experience is ok. There was one problem with a FA from another passenger but the other one referred the couple to the captain. It depends on the flight attendan't mood, I try to get them on their good side.

It was ok but just little problems and issues with two aircraft.
