Default Garuda orders 10 777-300ERs

Congrats to GA and Boeing!

Singapore 2008: Garuda orders 10 777-300ERs

"Today at the Singapore Airshow the airline’s CEO, Emirsyah Satar, signed a firm order for 10 777-300ERs and says first deliveries are set for mid-2010."

"Boeing says in a statement that the order for 777-300ERs is from an earlier deferred deal for six 777-200ERs, which has now been converted to one for six 777-300ERs. It also includes a new order for an additional four 777-300ERs."

Some more gorgeous Boeing 777-300ERs on the way... I have the Garuda MD-11 and it's pretty good.

It should look like this. Gorgeous indeed.

Top: This rendition B777-200ER is made by Jet about.
Original:Modified Airliner Photos

Modified Airliner Photos:

Bottom: My poor attempt of modifying a -200ER into a -300ER by copy and pasting fuselage frames to give you guys an idea of it in Garuda Indo's cs.

Oh and don't mind about making a simple background on the right side, I actually had a nice BG on the first attempt, and then my laptop crashed, and I didnt want another crash again, so this is then the finished result. :P

Looks nice in GI's scheme, right ? Would look great in 1:400 and HG 1:200 scale.

I wonder what cities that GIA will choose as their expanding destination(s) in the US.

Btw I can totally see myself flying on this B77W aircraft from AMS towards Asia. (connecting to Philippines via Soekarno Hatta.) Good secondary option.

A poor attempt is better than no attempt at all...thanks! The B77W looks great wearing the GA livery!

I don't believe GA currently has scheduled flights to the US. But the best bet is probably LAX or SFO.

What happened to your plan of flying to MNL from AMS on the KL B77W?

Yeah, It's still on my list, infact I have already booked a flight with KLM in June and will probably also for my December 2008 flight.

GIA is just a "secondary" option. MAS, KE and AZ, ANA are primaries on my list.

I think I can relax about GIA as they will get their 77W in 2010 first. haha

If MH was an option, I'd say go for it... They also have very cheap online fares!

I'd suggest you go with either MH or NH. Both airlines offer excellent service, plus MH won last year's Skytrax award for Best Cabin Crew. MH flies to KUL from ARN and AMS.

For the fourth or fifth time in a row! The ARN service is the stop on the EWR-KUL sector....I did that route, when it flew EWR-DXB-KUL...and if I recall I did it in $799/- + taxes return...awesome price, incredible service...you just can't go wrong!!

This report says Garuda to order 10 Boeing 777-200ERs not the Boeing 777-300ERs. It also mentions MH is to order the Boeing 777-300ERs..

ATW: Singapore Airshow News

Airbus, Boeing expected to announce more than $20 billion in orders in Singapore
Airbus and Boeing are expected to announce orders for at least $20 billion worth of aircraft at this week's Singapore Airshow.
In a major fleet upgrade, Garuda is expected to order 10 777-200ERs to support route expansion plans to Europe, the Middle East and North Asia. The order is in addition to a commitment for 10 787s.
Indonesia's Lion Air, which has eight 737-900ERs in service and a further 114 on order, is expected to add to that number with orders this week.
Reports from Malaysia indicate that Malaysia Airlines will order up to 40 737-800s and 777-300ERs to replace its 747-400s. The carrier also is strongly considering 747-8Fs. Sources suggest that MAS may have reached agreement with Airbus on A380 delay compensation and could order an additional two of the type.
Airbus also is holding a number of letters of intent that are expected to be converted into orders during the show.

Alright, either ATW or FlightGlobal screwed up...which is not the first time anyway. Let's just wait for GA and/or Boeing for their official press releases!

I believe this has been converted to B77W's instead of the B772ER's.

Source: Boeing, Garuda Indonesia Announce 777 Order

Additionally, Garuda confirmed a previous unidentified order for seven Next-Generation 737-800s placed in 2007, and announced that it has converted 18 of its existing 737-700s on order to 737-800s and six 777-200ERs on order to 777-300ERs.

Garuda originally placed an order for six 777-200ERs in 1996 and 18 737-700s in 1999, which were recorded on Boeing's order books. With today's announcement, Garuda's total order now stands at 25 737-800s and 10 777-300ERs jetliners. Additionally, the airline acquired purchase rights for an additional 25 737-800s and 10 777-300ERs.

Believe me, you won't regret it..If I were you, I'd take the ARN-KUL sector being one of their North American route...but then all of their sectors are just amazing..

MH uses B744 on the AMS-KUL sector while the B772 is deployed on the ARN-KUL sector. You have a higher chance to be on 9M-MPB or 9M-MPD than 9M-MRD.

Yup, I know. like the schemes, I really do.

I'll take that into considerations. Just going to decide what I should favor first hand, I don't wan't to go trough many stopovers. (I still have to try out SQ on the CPH-SIN-MNL and TG on CPH-BKK-MNL sectors. No doubt MH is great but so is SQ and TG. So many great airlines hahaha..

Only MH will have the price and the service...the others probably have a price to pay for the service
