Thumbs up The first B777-232LR for Delta Airlines.

Flightglobal.com reported that Delta will become the USA’s first customer for Boeing’s 777-200LR aircraft. "The two -200LRs are converted from a 777-200ER order previously placed with Boeing," the website writes. The new jets could be delivered "in the 2008 to 2010 time frame," Delta says.

Sorry, that's not a direct link and therefore I couldn't locate and read the article. But with only two airframes, DL can only fly one ultra-long range route. Any idea what the destination will be?

Sorry DAICH - Wrong link.

Here you go. first B777-232LR for Delta Airlines Archives

It says only two airframes in the article, but 3x 777 delivery slots are currently listed as unfilled on Boeing’s orders and deliveries website.
However, Delta does not say if these too are being converted to -200LRs, adding that the slots are "options" at this time.

Umm, that is an all-aluminum skin 777. How do you think AA polishes theirs up? It's just multi-hued/dull due to the protective finishes before it's painted.

Why dont you wait untill you see the aircraft in the new scheme ?
You'll probably going to eat your words. I THINK it will look awesome.

But one thing is for sure, the new scheme is ugly on the 757.

Hi David, I think you misunderstood my post ... what I had meant was that Boeing stuck with aluminum structure/skin for the 787 as opposed to going with composites because the 777 looks so GOOD in aluminum, even before it's polished.

Of course I know that all Boeings and Airbuses are of AL-alloy ... except for the 777 rudder for example, but I had meant all future Boeings.

Sorry for the confusing wording ...
