I have always like the PM aicraft but I still prefer the corporate livery.

But imho "refreshing" to see it in the normal scheme again.

Honestly im not a big fan of special paint schemes. Get a solid livery and stick with it.

Thumbs up Re: Peter Max is gone...

This is a shame, as it was a spectacular livery. Though I guess after 7+ years in this scheme it was probably time for a repaint. I went through Newark on 9/17/07 and was lucky enough to see her being pushed back for taxiing. Thank goodness I had my camera...and it had film!

So long Peter Max! I've had a few chances of spotting this fabulous aircraft and it will truly be missed!

Heck, I could have painted that mess. I always thought it looked like a paint sampler for the Continental folks to decide what color to paint the plane...

You sound about as cultured and crusty as I am!

That scheme reminds me of the Alexander Calder colors for Braniff on the DC-8. Never thought a scheme on a DC-8 could look bad....until I saw that one...

Hmm strange, I could've sworn that Continental had an agreement not to repaint that bird into normal colors except for touch-ups. I guess it might've expired (if there was an expiration date) or CO just decided to pay the penelties for doing so. At least that is what I remember from somewhere some time back.

At least it still looks good in normal CO scheme.

I don't know about the agreement but it was repainted in the normal livery probably because of a recent D-check.
