Default Liveries

For the most part the new liveries that have come out recently with the exception of Thai and Spirit (in my opinion of course) have not impressed me at all. NWA should have kept their's and US Airways, Delta, and United Airlines have basically the same style. Boring colors. What happened to creativity?? Did I even spell creativity correctly?? (too lazy to use spellcheck)

What do you think about the new liveries of LTU/Air Berlin, CSA, Varig, Virgin Atlantic and Air India?

LTU: I prefer the old colors but new livery is not bad
Air Berlin: I haven't paid attention to it but I will def check it out
CSA: Okay
Varig: Didn't they die out?
Virgin Atlantic: I LOVE THEIR LIVERY!
Air India: Both liveries are great.

I agree with you on northwest, the "shoebox" look was great. For some odd reason I also liked the old brown look on southwests compaired to the new blue. To be completely honest I wish airlines would get away from spending time on "special schemes" aka shamu, this animal or that, or olympics, and design a good sheme and stick with it.

YES! Because then diecast aircraft companies will make the special schemes that we have much disdain for and people who are part of forums for such hobbies will complain about it. Then others get upset when people complain...kind of like what happens here. A perfect example of this would be the Santa livery on Finnair's MD-11. Totally ruins everything. On a side note are Finnair's MD-11's still flying?

One day cheatlines will be back in full force!..I hope.........as soon as a super light weight/durable/cheap paint is manufactured.

Paint equals weight, which equals more fuel consumption. Euro White schemes are just economics symbolized in liveries. Paint protects a planes metal/composite surfaces, and white, or a light color help even more. 40 years ago no one cared how many 100kgs of paint were applied to an airplane.....now the number-crunchers do........
