Just heard that Japan Airlines Cargo B747-200 aborted landing around 6:25 p.m. local time and made landing just few minutes ago.
Virgin Atlantic FLT23 A340 landed shortly after JAL FLT6086 aborted its landing. Anybody at LAX who saw what went on? I saw one aborted landing at the In-N-Out before when it was foggy at night. Scary stuff because all you can see was lights from plane and u just hear engine roar for fast climb...

Aborted landings happen more often then you think. As a FF I've been on a number of aborted landings. Nothing scary about it, just an addtional take-off and landing.
Now aborted take-offs are a whole different thing, now that would be scary. ![]()

True! I have experienced a few aborted landings - TOGA. But so far, no aborted take-offs yet and hopefully not anytime soon.
