I like the old colors better. I think the new colors make their planes look like beer can with wings.

I would have to say the new colors. It looks so much better. Then again I am a new color freak! Everytime an airline comes out with a new colors, Southwest, AWA, United, Delta, Hawaiian, NWA, I begin to lose intrist in the old colors.

I quite like the old old Northwest Orient colours. Second would be the current silver scheme.

Northwest 720 introduction scheme and DC-8 both that are in 1:400 are I think the best scheme of theirs then followed by the bowling shoe. Scheme shown on this 727-100 that is on the 720. Then the thermostat scheme after that. The current is interesting but really does nothing when the name Northwest is not really seen.

I knew I should have included the older ones, I guess the point of the pole it to see how people liked the new livery as to the next one down.

They are both good! Seeing them in Hong Kong on the classics with the new scheme and here in america with their old scheme. Both are very nice!

I had to vote both because I like both equally. But the new colours really are starting to look better every time I see them, they look a lot more modern. Good point about the flying beer can I agree

I like them both, but like the pre bowling shoe one even more, with the bare metal top!

I love the pre bowling shoe livery! and I don't like bowling shoe scheme! So To me, the new livery is OK! I have taken three NW rides of DC-9-10, DC-9-30, and Avro RJ-85 this year. All of them are bowling shoe liveries. ![]() Last edited by freewing; 09-04-2004 at 06:59 PM. |

When I was growing up, Northwest was called "Northwest Orient" and had white/blue cheatlines on a bare metal plane, with a plain red tail. This livery looked especially good on a DC-10.
I like the 50s colors on a beautiful, big, fat Stratocruiser, a Super Connie, DC-7C or Electra!

I voted for the 'bowling shoe' colors...the new silver livery is ok but irritates me.
And I definatly agree that the older Northwest Orient colors were awesome!
