Question Viewing At Lax??

This Is My First Post, Though I Have Been Reading Dac Posts For A Looong Time.

I Have A Question For Someone Who Is Familiar With Lax.

I Have A Layover There This Weekend - 2 Hours - Where Is The Best Place To View Planes From Within The Airport? I Understand The Old Observation Deck Is Closed Forever. Is This True? Too Bad, I Went There As A Kid In The 1970's.

Thanks For Your Help.

The grassy park on Sepulveda Blvd. across from the In-N-Out. Not sure on the direct intersection, someone local can help you with that, but that's where I go when I am in LA. Should be there this August 16th, and a few other days after that. Whether or not you have enough time in your two hour layover is a better question, with leaving the terminal and catching a ride over then going back through security, so you may be stuck doing some terminal spotting, which is not bad, seeing they all have great runway views.

thanks for the info, I'll try and find out how for In and Out is from the terminal.

By the way........Air New Zealand DC-10-30 is my Top 10 of models that need to be made. I used to see them at LAX in the "Good Old Days".

My parents both worked for ANZ back then (mother's boss was killed in the Mount Erebus accident), and I used to have a really nice Pacific Miniatures DC-10-30.
