America West is doing very good and is growing as we speak. They have kind of a mini hub in LAX with 32 daily flights, 5 gates, and 9 nonstop cities. They are getting some Airbus A320's too. But as far as popularity I'm not sure. I don't work for them, I mean I'm only 14, but I like America West. And I personaly have had no bad experiences with them. And I hope you have a great experience with them on your flight.

Now I have a question about Northwest you might be able to answer...

How many Norhtwest planes have the new 2003 colors? They seem to be painting them very fast because last time I was at LAX, SNA, SMF, SFO I only saw the new colors.

Thanks for your help!

Financially they are doing well. They have transformed themselves into a hybrid low cost carrier with network hubs and service. They have low operating costs, but have two good sized hubs (LAS and PHX) and are indeed branching out and making LAX a focus city.

Their service an reliability have improved quite a bit over the past few years as well.

In my experience on America West, I've learned they don't have many problems with their people, if that's what you want to know. You already know if you got a good price. I hope you enjoy your trip.

It is good to hear nice comments about my favorite airline. But I must say, the ONLY thing I don't like about America West is that you have seat assignments. I like siting in the last row of the plane at the window seat. The only airline I have flowen that let's you sit where you want is Southwest.

Next time you buy a ticket, why not go on their website and give yourself a seat assignment in the back row. It's not a very popular seat since it takes forever to get off the plane and it's right by the crappers.

AWA sucks in my opinion. Their on-time record sucks. Their cabin staff suck. Their pilots dont even know what a "two-step" de-icing procedure is....and half the time, those warm-weatherd ***** pilots call for de-ice when there isnt a drop of contamination on the airplane......further delaying pax and making them mis-connect.

Well they just made 5.7 million for the 2nd quarter and I think they're great. The only thing is the fact they are installing ads on their tray tables.

I have not flown them in years and will not even though I can for free.
Yes, they are doing better, but I think they still blow.
The Ramp in PHX and LAS is a Southwest training ground.

With my few experiences runnng through LAS with Cactus I would not fly them unless I have to. Gate changed three times within the hour while I was waiting for my connection. Staff were not willing to inform the passengers what's going on. It seems the only answer they can say is "I Don't Know".....

I thinks ads on tray tables are a great idea if they can help offset fares. Maybe if airlines would pursue that they could get out of the toilet and start making some money and cheap tickets.
