Tradewinds Aviation at KPTK. Most flight schools in the area will say Tradewinds is the most expensive, but they also say that Tradewinds is by far the best in the area. They also feature a fleet of 3 1998 C172R Skyhawks, 2 2002 C172R's, 1 1980 C172RG and a 1976 Beech Craft Duchess. I should be wrapping up my instrument rating within the next week or two. Try giving them a call at (248) 666-4077, they are an excellent school.

OK. I was just wondering. Oakland-Pontiac is a good place to learn to fly. I would think that learning to fly at a controlled airport is better than learning at a non-controlled airport. I have a friend that got his license at a flight school there at PTK. I went up a few times with him. Someday, and I say someday, I will get my license. Best of luck with your instrument rating. Hope things go well!!

Thanks. I think learning at a controlled field is best too because it gets you used to the Air Traffic Control system. I have heard alot of pilots working on their private or even instrument that are having a hard time with their communications when entering places like Flint's Class C or even Pontiac's Class D, that trained from uncontrolled fields.
