Default ATA Livery Updates

N188AT (L-1011) has had it's Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays titles and "Hawaii" Tidal Wave removed this week while in C-check. N163AT will also loose it's PHH titles and tidal wave this week while in C-check. There is a rumor that you might, and I repeat "might" see the new ATA flag logo applied to the tails, or they may just leave them blue.

On a similar note, the 757-200's that have not been delivered, or repainted already in the new colors, will gradually have their Palm tree tail logo's and belly streamers/confetti removed. They will definately have the flag logo applied to the tail, however, the original "ATA" logo will remain until they go through repaint. So, look for some hybrids flying around over the next several months.

Rats. I'll miss the "Holidays" scheme, even though I've never flown your carrier. Howzabout some regular service to IAH?

The current livery is outstanding! Love that look, especially on the sexy lines of the -800 with winglets. Now if I'm not mistaken, didn't ATA adopt the 'vacation' scheme in the mid 1990s, circa 1995? Anyone remember the year they introduced the "vacation" palm tree look? In any case I wanna say that they didn't wait too long to introduce a new livery from the last one.

ATA's current colors aren't bad - We have them very often here in NUE (flying on a large US-troops exchange together with World, Miami- and Omni Air).
Here's a 753 in NUE

But that's still my favourite:
N194AT in old colors on NUE's runway 28.

Yes, N194AT still in the blue and gold. couriousely enough, N194AT was the last L-1011 to go through a "D" check, right at the time the new livery was introduced. Unfortuneatly, it did not get repainted in the new colors.

N161AT/N162AT/N164AT all still in the palm tree-vacation logo.

That's good to hear John. So, how many L-1011s are left in the fleet, and how long do ya think they'll be there?

Default ATA L-1011's

Hey Dave

Currently, there are 6 L-1011's left.

2 standard body ( N188AT / N194AT )

4 -500's (N161AT/N162AT/N163AT/N164AT)

N188AT will be parked around Sept. due to being out of "D" check time.

Supposedly, they will be around until 2006-2007, but I don't see it. It's hard to justify operating such a small fleet of any acft type.

I know we have looked at 767-300 ER's pretty heavily several times over the past couple of years. It comes down to what are the pilot's willing to fly it for ($$$) and will the military guarentee us enough work to keep them busy enough to justify bringing them onboard.

Thanks John, thats good to know they'll be around for a few more years.

I think the 767-300ER would be a good choice for ATA, or maybe even the 767-400ER?
