Talking It's Official...New UA Scheme!

While the topic may have been beaten to death, it is now official: United has a new scheme and it looks a little something like this. I like it alot, what are your opinions?

For starters its way too white, I think the current and the Saul Bass schemes are a lot better than this overall. If this is infact the new scheme it's not really what I expected.

It looks like an interim paint scheme after they took possesion of ex BA 777's...Same low-ride cheat with blah titles and a tail that trys to make up for the rest of the plane.

I already know it looks like this... But where did you get this image that confirms that it's truly official? Any link(s)?

Gotta agree with AV8TOR and newsnerd99.
Their current scheme is way better!

I like it! Except, they should keep the Saul Bass "U" on the tail with the new tail as background.

Default UAL's Final Livery

I like the tail. The United Font on the fuselage looks wrong and perhaps should be improved. Other then that, it pretty much looks like a British Airways Aircraft. I guess it could have been a lot worse.

Of course a new coat of paint isn't going to help UAL. Another great decision by Tilton. His strategy is to give the perception that UAL is fixed on the outside, while on the inside this BK carrier has made very few fundemental changes. UAL had a golden opportunity to reposition themselves as the #1 carrier across the board and they blew it. Since Tilton took over they have demonstrated zero innovation, zero leadership, they lowered themselves to the level of their competition, and have no clear plan for long term growth.

The last thing a carrier like UAL needs to do right now is to rebrand themselves. This is a costly campaign that is ill conceived. Oh I am sure the lame folks that came up with Ted convinced Tilton that if he repainted his house, everything would be just fine. Sure Aircraft need a fresh coat of paint every now and then, but rebranding the entire fleet at this time is BS.

The scheme itself is not that bad (I like the current one better), but what really looks cheap 'n tacky is their website url plastered over the side. I've always thought this looked really crass as part of an airline's livery--almost like a city cab with its phone number on the outside. Do they really expect that this is going to cause them any appreciable increase in business??

I would like it much better if where the titles are on the fuselage, there was a big oversized U. Just like on the tail and the then, the tittles a bit further back over the wing area.

I like the presentation No Duh displayed immediately above. Not sure of the authenticity of the images, however. Just perused United's employee site "Skynet" and didn't see an announcement.

T-Man, I'm weary of responding to your ill-conceived "bombthrowing" tirades against UAL. 90% of your assertions are bunk and are grounded in angry opinion.
You may not like the concept of Ted, but it's quite innovative. Nor do you understand the notions of revenue maximization achieved by removing the F/C seats and substantially increasing aircraft utilization.

You are too funny. It seems like when anyone talks bad about United, you ALWAYS get offended. It's not like you own United. You're one of several employees that corporate management REALLY doesn't care about. Are you one of these people that can't ever hear someone talk bad about the company you work for? You make it sound like you know everything about United.

Not quite, bucko! Lots of folks talk trash about United, myself included at times - you were involved with DAC in the time leading up to bankruptcy. I have slim tolerance for T-Man, as he incessantly bashes UA for sport. But I have less respect for dolts like you who make sweeping generalizations in a mood of spite. Note your superlative adjectives such as "always, ever, everything".
My posts are typically sprinkled with humor - you sound perpetually angry, and not very bright.

I'm actually pretty bright, thanks though. You're from California, correct? Why is California so full of those creepy left wing liberals? Why do you let people like "T-Man" get to you? Obviously, he's ripping on United all of the time to get you all worked up.

What the F! does that have anything to do with anything? Bad generalization. CA is like everywhere else; we have everything from far right conservatives to far left liberals AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN. Guess what? There are "creepy left wing liberals" in your state too. Shocking?

Ahhhhhh duh! I know there are stupid liberals in my state. As matter of fact, we have one as the Governor. Hopefully, the bimbo will lose the next election.

Ooops! Somebody forgot to look at JetBlue's aircraft. Those are going to look almost identical from a distance, kind of like VS/NW does now!

I fail to see what a particular "political" viewpoint has to do with a new United colorscheme............

Care to enlighten us, Piston?

Nothing really. It's interesting to see everyone get all ticked off about retarded crap. As far as United's new livery, it's OK, but I just can't see United spending TONS of money on a new livery when they should be saving their money.
