This is the example for what I am hoping to see MD-11 back in service with Delta.
Under the situation and it is wiser to use "10 yrs old" aircraft and delay new aircraft til things start to look good for few years not just quarterly. ATL-LAX-NRT route with MD-11 is the best hope so we can fly that from ALT-LAX round trip. Also ATL-MCO for pilot's potty training. ![]() |

FedEx leases the two DC10-30's from United (N326FE and N326FE). We like to call them "the grey ghosts." I'm not real sure when we are supposed to give them back but I know that they're not slated to become MD10's. I flew on both of those airplanes when I was a flight engineer and I wasn't real fond of them. They are configured differently from our normal DC10's and they always had something wrong with them. Plus they're both kinda ugly since they haven't been painted for some time.
