Well I took my first ERJ-135 ride on Saturday and I must say that I was very impressed. I sat in the very last row right by the right engine and it was really cool hearing that thing wined up.

For tall people, the CRJ-200s suck pond water. I have never been so uncomfortable on a plane in my entire life (LBB-DWF). CRJ-200s should be removed from passenger service all together. PERIOD

I must say I much prefer the ERJ to the CRJ in terms of comfort. The ERJ is a nice little airliner.

I´ve never flown on an ERJ so far but with some LH CRJs and they were very comfortable, but even more comfortable in my opinion are their AVROs.

Both were good but the way the ERJ seemed to fly to me was great. Very smooth flying.

the ERJ has better windows ... like on the Brasilia ... unlike the mini concorde-style windows on the CRJ-100/200
And I personally think that the 2x1 seating is nicer. The Lavatory on the ERJ is much nicer as well ... it is the full width of the cabin ... unlike the CRJ which is located on the starboard side of the aisle ... which sucks if you are over 4ft tall. G. |

Once I´ve flown on a CRJ a thicker woman got stuck in the door of the restroom. Actually this isn´t funny but when you see something like this you can´t do anything but laugh. |

Those seats do not look like the ones that were used in the CRJ that I flew in...those seats in the picture actually look very comfortable.

They are much more comfortable than the seats they use to have in long-haul-aircrafts. |

CRJ’s and ERJ’s are deplorable machines!
I am not a fan of any aircraft who's primary design goals included that it be economical, quite and diplomatically correct. These two aircraft single-handedly brought about the demise of great aircraft like the 727, L1011, DC-8/9/10 and now the near and impending demise of the 737-200. I insist that any aircraft bearing my seal of approval be large, loud, wasteful, ruinous, smell like my granpa's old Packard inside and smoke like Sammy Davis Jr. To openly admit that; “RJ’s are cool” or make a stupid comment like; “There IS noting better than a CRJ” is to publicly exit the closet and pronounce your self to be a friggen homosexual! These planes are like mopeds and fat chicks, it's no wonder that the airlines can't sell tickets anymore, nobody wants to fly on these wanna-be POS's! |

And besides, if airplanes like the 727 or Tristars flew small routes that RJ's now fly on, airlines would be loosing even more money as the RJ's cost waaay less to operate and (since their smaller) are easier to fill. |

Reeling them in now, are you, Dave? It's like shooting fish in a bucket most days.

My senior year of college I had a very wise professor who always use to tell me to: "Be suspect of any man who tells you that he is straight or honest."
My father always told me to: "Beware of any pansy who prefers these new fangled flying video games over the old smoke poles as he is probably a gay AID's carrier, or at least one serious fairy with a sore throat." |

But seriously, back to the topic, besides asthetics, do you have a real reason for prefering the bigger (older) planes to the new Regional Jets? Just curious, not looking for a fight ![]() |

To be honest I just like the older.
The older aircraft have more style than the new generation airliners, with every new one basicaly looking like a 767 with size being the only real visual difference. I love the roar and crackle of the old turbo-jets and low bye-pass fans. The new RJ's are very mundane and do not stimulate my senses. And nothing beats the odors found in the old era jets either, you got your basic jet-a smell coupled with hydraulic fluid and a little b.o mixed in for good measure along with decades of spilled coffee and soda and a tad of puke to top it off. |

Though I have to admit, when I see a Northwest DC-9 power-up here in YYZ it is an interesting feeling to say the least... |
