Default KLM Start services to Baghdad

Starting 31 August, KLM will be flying scheduled services to Baghdad.

Good news? I think so.

Special fares from Aberdeen start at £350.00 so I might go just to get the stamp in my passport. Woo hoo.

Oh brother, Baghdad will never be the same. Haven't the poor Iraqi people suffered enough?

There is a lot of truth in this statement Herr. Minor. KLM have got to be the worst long-haul airline I have flown with. I sell more KLM seats than I do on any other airline but you wouldn't catch me dead on KLM (with the exception of Baghdad on account of it's kinda special).

I flew KLM to Tanzania and service was great but that was Business section so can not compare that of coach class.

I have flown KLM YYZ-AMS-BEY and back. Every flight was great!
KLM has excellent service and the food is good too especially
those burritos. They also served popsicles, nice treat. I got to sit
right by the exist, so I pretty much had unlimited leg room

Well Mr. Minor, you have nailed this one, spot on!

Eddy, you have not even survived the upcoming foray to Bratislava! Don't you think you should wait to be making such plans until you see what kind of shape you are in after the "Wien" (sic) and the hearty Hungarian red and the goulash?

Besides, wait a while longer and you will be able to make the same trip on an outfit that has some decent onboard service. Soon the boys in Blue will give way to the Red tail and you can travel in style on a classic Diesel-10!

Now isn't that what you would really rather do???

Happy Trails,

Don

p.s. I'll keep you posted on the road-trip to Budapest!

I don't think is any large Iraqi or even Arab population in the
Netherlands. KLM is most likely using this route to attrack people
from North America and Europe. They have a very big presence in the Middle East. They also serve cities such as Beirut, Damascus, Amman, Saudi Arabia and so on.

Default KLM to Baghdad

I believe KLM is working in with NWA on this flight. I had heard NWA wanted to offer a flight from Detroit to Baghdad. Detroit has a large Arab immigrant community.
