Default American Eagle to launch XNA-LAX service

Strange new route...... wonder what the reasoning behind it is?

Any bets on how long it will last?

--------------------------------

American Eagle (Jun25, 2003)
Will inaugurate nonstop service from Los Angeles to Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) on 05Aug03. AE will operate daily service except Saturdays using a Canadair RJ700.

Perhaps Mr. Clinton is the reason. Perhaps he has bought a house in Beverly Hills or so.

I think it will last until Mr. Clinton is moving out there again.

Northwest Arkansas is one of the most profitable domestic stations in the American Eagle system, strange as it sounds. It's the headquarters of Wal-Mart, and gets mostly business travelers. Eagle also flies nonstop to New York-LGA from XNA, besides DFW, and AA mainline service is available to ORD. Delta Connection also flies there, and I think Continental Express, too. It does seem obscure, doesn't it?
