There are absolutely no plans for AA to retire the A300 fleet, for 2 reasons: one being its current financial situation; the other being a lack of a suitable replacement. Beginning in November, American will begin reconfiguring its A300s to standard seating, eliminating its "More Room in Coach" program in all leisure markets in the Caribbean.

Plans call for AA to eventually standardize to an all-Boeing fleet, but the A300 is best suited for carrying a large load of passengers on relatively short segments of 3 hours or less, unlike the 777 or 767, which are best utilized on long-hauls.

Oh yeah, sure, it's a great airliner as long as you're not living in Queens when one of these pieces of sh*t decides to delaminate for no apparent reason … give me a f*ckin’ break man!
