The University of Oklahoma also has a decent flight training degree program as well. Along with earning a CFII by the time you graduate, you'll also earn a degree in Business Management. (Back in the days when I was a student at OU, it was under the College of Education, and you earned a degree in education.)

Many of the big universities have good aerospace engineering programs. Check out Georgia Tech's Website for Aerospace Engineering http://www.ae.gatech.edu/research/ . I'd also check out the College search engines like Colleges.com .If you're interested in being a pilot, grab a Plane+Pilot magazine, or related a one, they usually have a lot of ads for commerical pilot training. There is also the U.S. Air Force Academy as well as the U.S. Naval Academy.

Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Ok. This is the flight school I attend. Along with my flight training im getting a college degree. Currently im working on my CFI/II. The only thing that sucks is that the school is located in a ***** hole state.

I thought I had heard that Spartan lost most of its accreditation in the early 90's?

Purdue University has an excellent Aviation program for all areas of the industry. Our flight, mx and admin majors all use the fully functional and flyable 737 that Purdue operates, as well as a static 727, and a fleet of around 25 other aircraft from a brand new Beech Jet and two King Air's to smaller Pipers and Cesnas. Purdue also has a few airline simulators to further get pilots ready for the airline industry. But its most valuale resource is the teaching staff of former airline executives, pilots, and mechanics who know so much experience related knowledge as well as an amazingly large network of airline contacts to halp you get a job after graduation.

Purdue's aeronautical engineering program is also an outstanding program to affiliated with. It boasts 22 astronauts that have graduated from its program, more than any other school. Such astronauts include Apollo I astronauts Virgil "Gus" Grissom, and Roger Chaffee; Gemini VIII/Apollo XI commander and first man to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong, and the last man to walk on the moon, Eugene Cernan, the commander of Apollo XVII, as vell as Apollo X, and Gemini IX. Others include shuttle astronauts John Blaha, veteran of 6 missions; Jerry Ross, veteran of a record 7 shuttle missions and the astonaut with spacewalk record at 58hours and 16 min, and David Wolf who has spent time on MIR as well as ISS.

Purdue alumni have flown on approximately 37 percent of all manned U.S. space flights, including missions from Project Mercury (Grissom), the Gemini Program (Armstrong, Cernan and Grissom) and the Apollo Program (Armstrong and Cernan). Thirty nine flights of the space shuttle have had Purdue alumni as part of the crews. Two of the six Americans who have flown on board the Russian space station Mir, John Blaha and David Wolf, are Purdue grads.

Purdue has a deep and rich aviation history including the honor of Amelia Earhart once being a teacher at Purdue. It is an excellent campus, with a great tradition, and excellent choice for your future. I enjoyed every single minute of the time I spent there and cherish the memories.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

You'd think that "Purdue" would offer some sort of spelling classes as well.
