Default Attention Aviation Buffs: Ford Tri-Motor

If you are in the Detroit Metro area in early June, you HAVE to do this!

Quote:
Did you know that in the late 1920's, Ford was actually the world's largest manufacturer of airplanes? Here's a chance to celebrate the aviation legacy created by Henry and Edsel Ford...

To coincide with our centennial celebration, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) of Oshkosh, WI is bringing their immaculately restored 1929 Ford Tri-Motor to Michigan. Rides on the plane will be offered at an advanced booking rate of $40 per person. Flights will operate out of Oakland County International Airport in Pontiac on June 6th - 11th, and June 16th - 19th.

Talking

I do think this aircraft was designed before I was born.

I smell lots of A.net photographers jumping on this one... nothing like a highly publicized event of a classic aircraft to excite them.

I actually saw this plane yesterday at Pontiac Oakland County International while I was flying. It is a amazing to see such a huge aircraft fly so slow...

I actually have flown on a Scenic Tri Motor at LAS a few years ago.
It was a fun ride and I am glad I had the opportunity.
This is a must ride before it is too late.
