Boeing engineers are using a 7E7 concept design to push their thinking on more innovative exterior designs concepts including a refined nose shape, new wing tip concepts and a sculpted vertical tail structure. Engineers are studying these touches for consideration on the new 7E7, which is being designed as a super-efficient, twin-aisle airplane capable of carrying 200-250 passengers on long-range routes.

The 777 has a great profile this is well a little strange. What is the difference besides some aerodynamic changes?

While I have to admit that I am disappointed that Boeing chose to take the 'conservative' approach to their new generation aircraft, I like the way that it's shaping up!
If Boeing really can make meet their promises and make this plane super efficient, then I'm guessing that it'll be a good seller. |

I thought it looked like a train too! Like a Japanese bullet train. Anyways, I've already got my name picked for it--eDolphin. Thing's got a humped back and an upswept curved tail.

At first glance, this picture reminds me of the ERJ-175. Also, it looks like Boeing is taking efficiency to the max on this picture by only putting 1 engine on the plane, I think Airbus will have a good time trying to criticize Boeing some more.

Love Boeing, but the only name that comes to mind is "FLATLINER".

I like it!
I was afraid that the 7E7 would just be another 767/777 look alike, but this one has some character. It looks to me like a big ERJ-175/195 and that's a good thing in my book ![]()

I appreciate that look - quite harmonious. Note to Boeing: Eddy's right..... please consult with Klein, Asher, etc to create an easily replicated 1/400 windshield.

No new aircraft type is of interest when you have the same a-typical battleaxes on the inside giving the expected piss poor service (this applies to most US carriers).
Sorry for my lack of enthusiasm guys! |

Well, I like it! It looks like somebody at Boeing finally managed to get ahold of an old Luigi Colani book! http://www.colani.ch/frame.htm
At least it's not the same old thing with a new wing and engines.... and SPEAKING of the engines, they look foreign on this bird. Someone needs to get some fluid dynamics going on THOSE too!

BOEING 7E7 PLANNING COMMITTEE
Initial Design Review 1. Obtain the following: a CRJ700, a Dornier 328, and an ERJ-175. 2. Throw them into a mixer. 3. Render output. Still, whatever works... ![]()

When I first saw this on the Boeing website, I thought it was a cartoon like the Jetsons, but I like it. It's a departure from what we're used to seeing. Something really modern for a change. I thought aircraft design was starting to stagnate, even with the look of the 777 or A380.

We are seriously reaching at this point (even me,
). But if you want to take the design apart right down to the little bolts, I personally think the 7E7 nose has the image of a swordfish.
