Question Short Wave & Long Haul Flights

With war probably just a few days off, I dug out my shortwave receiver the other day, as I recall being able to receive a bounty of interesting broadcasts during Desert Storm, including HF transmissions from various airliners and military transports, mainly trans-Atlantic and trans-African.

My question is with the improvement of satellite communications in the past decade, do long haul flights still use HF radio, and if so, any ideas on good frequencies to tune into? I know this is very dependant on your geographic location.
