We all that have flown as the pilot in control that you fly with one had on the yoke and the other on the throttle, especially during take offs and landings. Here are some of the variations among the airlines:
United: one hand on the yoke or side stick, the other on the job application incase the unthinkable happens American: one hand on the yoke, the other firmly gripping the seniority of a former TWA pilot Delta, Northwest and Continental: one hand on the yoke, the other holding a beer British Airways: one hand on the yoke, the other gripping a cup of tea Virgin Atlantic: one hand on the yoke, the other flipping off the aforementioned British Airways pilot Qantas: one hand on the yoke, the other holding a cocktail napkin signed by your captain, John Travolta (scary thought) US Airways: one hand on the yoke, the other holding a religious book and praying for job security What are yours. |
