Hi Guys,
Air China has cancelled their A.318 order (8 aircraft) in favour of more A.319's due to problems with the PW engine. ILFC has cancelled one 318, converted 4 others to 319's. That now leaves the order book at 84..... down from 136 in Jan 2002, and 97 in Dec 2002. FYI, Frontier ran an employee competition to choose the tail design for their first. The winner is a brown bear attempting to climb a tree... ship 801.

How about a rat jumping off a sinking ship? (no, not Frontier, but the A-318 program)

I think the A318 has gone through bad times as a result of problems with the P&W engine, but since they've widened the engine choice now it should get back on track, and long term I think it has huge sales potential as it offers an airframe in the lass of the new large RJ's but with significant commonaity with the rest of the A320 family.

I hope more customers buy the A318 . It's such a small cute little bird .
