Qantas love JAL so much that they decide to pay JAL to paint the name on the airline ?
Seriously , I have no idea too . Anyone knows ?

I don't know exactly what the story behind this scheme is, but I'm taking a guess that Qantas leased this plane from JAL for a short time and just left it in a transitonal scheme.
Like this BA QF hybrid which was recently released by Bigbird: ![]() |

That is a 744D . I dont think jAL leased that plane to QF . Most probably its a codeshare with QF on certain routes .

I would say JAL leased the plane from Qantas, it has rolls royce engines which makes it a Qantas plane, not a JAL.

Poor plane must be suffering from an identity crisis... It would make a neat model though...

You guys have it all backwards. If you look closely you'll see that those are RR engines, making it a 747-300. That makes it a QANTAS bird that was leased to JAL.

Thanks for the info guys~! I guess JAL did leased from Qantas for
some reason, but it's strange that JAL is a company with so many 747s leased an aircraft from other company... ![]() |
