Question Anybody know anything about the new KLM livery?

I have been hearing that KLM will be coming out with a new livery
before Christmas. I hear that keep its blue. The lettering will be changed along with changes to the tail. I also hear the cargo planes will have billboard titles of "CARGO."

Does anybody know if this is true and if there are any pictures showing the new livery???

I just hope KLM don't do any major changes, I love their livery very much.

Yeah, those are the current KLM Cargo livery. The new one is said to have a large "CARGO" billboard across the fuselage of the aircraft.

I heard that KLM will reveal the livery some time before Christmas. I believe it is December 21st - but could be wrong.

It is rumored to have a different shade of blue on the fuselage, but I hope that they keep the general part of the livery has it's one of the nicest in the skies...

Default Body shop greedy?

How sad?

I could imagine that it cost way too much to keep up the paint job on special color.

Our local public service vechiles used to be hot orange until some commissioneer idiot barked over the paint job cost and now we are seeing all white vechiles..... Borrrrring...... I am seeing "on rise" along with such law enforcement vechiles by having one-color vechile instead of double colors.

That could be similar that reason??????

How much do it cost to keep touch up, repaint or to keep up the color per aircraft verus plain color annually? Anyone know?

One more thing... When airliner order a new plane from Boeing or Airbus do they charge more for color planes than plain color plane?

After seeing the bland Swiss livery, and the new vomit-inducing paint scheme for Hapag-Lloyd (just to name a few), I've got an uneasy feeling anytime a European airline announces a livery change. Hopefully the people at KLM have enough sense to try to stay with tradition and keep it classy and colorful. I guess we'll find out soon enough!

I was under the impression that Boeing kept the standard aircraft liveries on file, and painted all planes that colour. Paint schemes like Wunala Dreaming and the BA tails were after market paint jobs. If the airline changes the livery, than Boeing does so accordingly - no change in price.

I dont know about Airbus practices though.

Nooo! This is terrible news. I love their current livery. I suppose I will have to wait and see if the new one will be as nice as the old one, but it's still a sad day

Thumbs up KLM ain't go the Euro white way!

Hey guys!

I just got some info from a friend in the Netherlands about the new KLM livery! First of, KLM has the commonsence not to go Euro white!!!

He got a confirmation that all that KLM wants to do is have a more modern look. They will keep their blue fuselage! All they want to do is change the colour of the cheatline into a different blue. There is no confirmation for changes of the tail. As for the cargo planes, they will have a "CARGO" billboard stretching from the nose to the tail! That's all that is confirmed!

The livery will be revealed on Dec. 19, 2002 on a B747-400.
