Default Spotting at LAX

Guys I need your help, I'll be flying home to LA on Dec 15. I plan to do some spotting while im out there, other than spotting at the in and out is there another location to go without getting in trouble. I use to be able to go into the employee parking across the street from 24L/R but not anymore for obvious reasons.

Well, you could go "up on the hill", on Imperial Highway, near the departure end of the 25's.

Can't miss it, although it's been awhile, there's usually a sign on the hill that says "NO JETS", put there by the El Segundo noise mongers association.

Nope. It's a residential neighborhood. Just park on the street on top of the hill. There used to be benches up there pointed at the 25's, but I don'tknow if they're still up there or not.

There is! As you drive out of LAX, turn North on Sepulveda Blvd (or some such spelling...), it's right under the end of the northerm runways! Great hamburgers and shakes, and heavy metal a hundred feet over your head!

Been there, I didn't remember the street name. There is a small park right on the side of In & Out, finding parking is not a problem since patrons leave very consistently.
When approaching In & Out stay on your right, as there is a "Y" deviation on Sepuveda and you may end by the beach. Stay put on the second line from your left and make a quick "U" turn at the light.
At this place you see 1/2 of LAXs action since the paralell runway in the other side of the airport get as much action at this spot. (terminals 4 to 7)

If you go on Sunday around noon I'll pay for lunch and you bring me a nice safety card (BTW: what are you flying?)

About a year ago (and AFTER 9-11), I spent several hours rotating between the Proud Bird Restaurant and the "Big Cargo" parking lot right across the street. No one bothered me, and the Big Cargo parking lot is on airport property right next to a gate that leads airside. Several times airport police drove by, and didn't even stop, despite seeing me standing next to the fence with a camera. BTW, this is at the southeast corner of the airport, and In N Out Burger is towards the NE corner.

In N Out by LAX is right by Sepulveda and Westchester Pkwy. The "Imperial Hill" spot does indeed still have the benches, and is a great location for rotation shots or planes leaving and arriving at the Tom Bradley terminal. No cops/law enforcement will bother you here. Another good spot is off of Westchester Pkwy, alongside 24L and 24R. There is a small road that is blocked off, unfortunatly since 9/11, before that it was open. It is still accessable if you park your car nearby and walk. You can get some good above-the-fence shots. However, I dont know if cops will bother you here. They shouldn't however. If you want anymore info, you can PM me and I'll try to help you with any questions.

Last June when I did some spotting I was actually on the other cargo side. Me and my friend sat at the edge of the fence at the Virgin Cargo center and the cops kept driving by but never did anything.
